Three Wish Wednesday!

So exciting news ... Yesterday Colleen Houck announced that her Books have a movie director!  We here at My Title Wave are so excited that the movie is going forward and are keeping our fingers crossed that we will see this hit the big screens SOON. Who do you ask is this wonderful director?  None other than Shekhar Kapur!
This got me thinking ... what other books would I like to be made into a movie?  So that is what "Three Wish Wednesday" is all about today.  My Top three books to movies.

Wish 1:
The Selection by Kiera Cass
I know they were trying to make a TV show from these books but it never happened.  I must say, in my opinion, I think it would work much better as a movie.  And, well, who doesn't love Kiera Cass and want the best for her babies?!

Wish 2:
The Star-Crossed Series by Rachel Higginson
Okay ... so this series is not super well know, but let me just say, it's AMAZING (in a singsong voice)!
I fell in love with the characters and would love to see it in the theaters.

Wish 3:
Splintered by A.G. Howard
I think this book would be perfect for the big screen!  I could see it being the next Tim Burton hit starring Johnny Depp.  The dark twisted nature of the book would mesmerize all who watched.

There were so many books, I could make a much longer list but it is only "Three" Wish Wednesday. I had to stop at three.  What would your wish be?  What book would you like to see on the big screen?  Let us know in the comments below.

"A Wish Come True!"

I thought I would take some liberty today with our "Three Wishes Wednesday" post, and share with you something on a personal level.  This doesn't have anything to do with books but it is definitely a wish come true in our family!  So with that being said, here is "My One Wish Wednesday" ...

Earlier this summer, we found out some awesome news!  We were going to add a new, precious little one to our family circle!!!  You can not imagine the celebration this news brought.  However, we were going to have to wait patiently as our little addition grew and developed and wouldn't join us until ... April, 2015!  Until then we could plan and scheme and have fun getting ready.  We could also find out the gender of the baby!!!  That is exactly what happened this week!

On Monday, we all gathered together as family and friends for a "Gender Reveal" party.  Everyone showed up in pink or blue, depending on what they thought the baby was ... girl or boy.  The theme for the night was ...
and that is exactly how the evening went.  It was all about cupcakes and muffins!

The house was decorated with giant cupcakes and muffins on the walls.  There was also muffin and cupcake liner garland hanging around the room.
We also spend a day making the cutest "Retro Ovens" ever!  They went along perfectly with the evening.  Here they are:

And to add the finishing touch ... what oven would be complete without a "Sweet Little Cupcake" inside?!
For dinner, we served various soups and ate ... what else but ... MUFFINS!  (Blueberry, chocolate, banana nut, and corn bread ... all delicious!)
After dinner, we played a couple of games ... "Baking Up The Perfect Name" and "Mama Cupcake & Papa Muffin - Finish My Sentence".  Then came the reason we were all there ... the gender reveal!

We decided to do the reveal with a cake.  (We thought it went perfectly with the whole "baking" theme of the night.)  And here is the amazing cake we had made:
Soooo CUTE!!!
It had a "Sweet Little Cupcake" cake on top ...
and a "Handsome Stud Muffin" cake on the bottom!
And inside ... it held the secret!!!
It was perfect for our evening of fun and excitement!

And what were the results?  What was the precious little one's gender?  Here you go ...
A "Handsome Stud Muffin" will be joining our family circle early next year!!!  We all can't wait to hold our beautiful little boy, grandson, nephew, etc!  We can't wait to see his precious face and give him tons of cuddles and kisses ... and of course read a few stories along the way!  ; )

Our First Ever Guest Blogger

First off ... I would like you all to meet our first ever "Guest Blogger" ... Belle!
Belle is 11 years old and is in her first year of Middle School.  She loves all things aquamarine and anything with bling!  She loves jewelry, shopping, drawing, doing crafts and reading.  Belle can never have enough fun.  Every day is a "GREAT!" day for Belle.  Here is her book review:

Ever After High ... The Storybook of Legends
One of my favorite book series is the Ever After High series.  I think it is a good book for anyone my age.  The first book in the series is The Storybook of Legends and I LOVED it!!!  I had a hard time putting it down each night.  I wanted to keep reading even though I needed to be getting my sleep for the next school day.  It was a resort-to-flashlight-under-the-covers kind of reading.

The Storybook of Legends taught a good lesson.  It made me want to "write my own story" and not worry so much about what others think I should be doing.  After reading this book you will realize that following the crowd is not the way to go!

And ... you don't need to be a kid to enjoy this novel.  My Mom and I read it together and she even liked it.  Any age will love these books.  I strongly suggest reading out loud with your mom or anyone else who wants to join in the fun.  It made reading the book even better.

My favorite character in the book is Madeline Hatter (the daughter of the Mad Hatter).  I like her because Madeline doesn't care what other people think of her.  She is a loyal friend, she's carefree, she loves to have fun, she's playful, and has a good personality.  She also walks to the beat of her own drum.  All of the students in the story are children of famous fairy tale characters.  The adults in the story are also based off of fairy tales.  I loved meeting new people throughout the pages of the book and trying to figure out who's kids they were.

There is also a little side story twist that I thought was cute!  An unexpected romance at Ever After High between Ashlynn Ella (the daughter of Cinderella) and Hunter Huntsman (the son of the Huntsman in Snow White).  You don't find out too much about their story but I'm hoping to find out more in the following book.

Oh ... I almost forgot ... not only are the books great, but there are other things that go along with the books!  They have clothing ...

... and what I love ... DOLLS!
And I just found out ... they have Halloween costumes!!!
How's that for "Three Wishes"?!!  I have a few more things to add to my Christmas list!

The Storybook Of Legends is absolutely charming!  I was surprised with how fun the plot was and how much I liked the characters.  Will they choose to keep the story they were born to do or will they choose their own destiny?  Find out everything in the Ever After High Series!

"It's Three Wishes Wednesday!"

I absolutely L-O-V-E ... LOVE the Awaken series, so coming up with "Three Wishes" this week was easy-peasy!  What more could anyone wish for than more time with friends and family?  Life gets crazy ... there's so many distractions ... and before we know it, another day is over.  And then before we can blink an eye, the week has slipped by!  Trying to find time + building memories with the people who matter most = the challenge of our lives.

So my "Three Wishes" this week is exactly that ... ideas that would be fun, build memories and will get us interacting with each other.
Wish #1
I loved this idea when I saw it!  Who doesn't love Jenga?!  With that said, who wouldn't love a Giant Jenga Game?!!  This would be so easy to make - 2 2x4 pieces (8 feet long) cut into 10.5 inch pieces ... a little sanding ... and voila!  You have hours of fun entertainment!!!
Wish #2
My kids would LOVE this game!  Divide everyone into two teams with a "catcher" on each team.  Mark two lines at both ends of the playing area.  Each team stands behind their line.  Take turns "pitching" a water balloon to the opposing team to see how well they can catch it.  All you need to make this fun play equipment is a bike helmet, a colander and some string to tie the two together.  Let the water fun begin!!!
Wish #3
Can I just say ... THIS LOOKS AWESOME!  When I saw this, I knew I wanted one!  (It seems a little more complicated than the other two "wishes" but we all know someone in our lives that is handy.  Get them working!  haha)

Check out the links below to find out exactly how to build these amazing "Together Time" projects and have fun interacting ... face to face ... building memories with the ones we love!
